What will you give up for Lent?

  1. Hi Dave,
Yesterday I asked a co-worker if she was giving something up for Lent. She said, "I had a piece of chocolate this morning so I know it won't be chocolate!" I thought that was a clever preemptive move.

  2. Hi Annie a crafty approach, so by quickly endulging in all the things you like, certainly narrows the field. Going the way of many New Years resolutions???

  3. We don't celebrate Lent, so I'm not giving up anything. Baptists are lazy people I guess.

  4. Dave, our religion doesn't observe Lent - so not giving anything up for that. However, had to give up anything and everything with fat in it, due to my gallbladder - and this picture is making my mouth water!!

  6. mmmm....chocolates! I'm not giving anything up for Lent, but I can't eat chocolates, either.

Unfortunately, I find them just too sweet, they don't sit well with me anymore.

But I used to be a chocolate binger, in my younger years!

    Great, yummy photo!

  7. Hmmm - in my church we don't so much "give up" as "add." We add more church going, more prayer, more almsgiving and charitable works, more introspection, etc. It is viewed as taking 40 days to step away from the world a bit in an effort build a closer relationship with God.

Alas, I also will have to pass on the chocolates, as I have doctor's orders to avoid sugar, caffeine and alcohol (although I have been known to sneak a piece of dark chocolate, now and then!)
