Norwegian Church

Posted by Picasa
The old and the new. The old church was originally built in the early 1900's by for the Norwegian ships using Cardiff. It has been refurbished and is now a restaurant. There is a similar style church down the coast in Swansea docks.
The statue is modern.

  1. Even though old, the whole area looks modern. Is that statue made from mosaics? Does it depict Norwegians/Vikings?

  2. hmm a simple church which is hard to find these days. The churches here are really big on architecture .. and sculptures and such on the walls.

  3. The sculpture looks older than the church! How beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen a church with no windows.

  4. Hi, I remember the movie Pretty in Pink. Ringwald was lovely to watch, her awkward teenage self. I wonder where she is today?

  5. Nabeel, Thanks for commenting. We tend to have more chapels here in Wales. They are not so grand as the bigger churches.
Kat...its a modern sculpttre and the windows in the church are small, maybe to keep out the cold??

Annie ...Have a Google to see what Molly R is up to now.

  8. Such simple beauty, that old church.

Here, the silly people knocked down a mosque that's over 100 years old. We don't preserve our history, then we envy and praise those who do.
