  1. Ah, that seems a world away to me.

I think the Native Americans used birch and cedar to build their canoes, trees different from the tulip poplar.

  2. Thanks for the information about the trees Annie. Malta has retained many older and original buildings. Its a very interesting place, especially if you like old buses. Google Malta buses

  3. I have been to Valetta and it was a beautiful place from what I remember, I was only 21 at the time though and wouldn't have apreciated some of the surroundings as much as I would now. I also sailed to Gozo which was equally beautiful.

  4. Hi Jayne, we did the ferry to Gozo too, again very nice. I'm pleased we went to Malta in April, as it would be too hot for me in June July August.

  6. Wanda, neither am I really. I would love to come to America but the long flight really puts me off. Way back I studied America as part of my A levels and would love to visit places. However the internet is a substitute, but its not the real thing is it.

  7. Hello again, I was the mad one who went to Malta in August. It was VERY hot. The only thing was that I stayed in St Julian which was quite commercial. One of the shops visible from the balcony was either a Burger King or a KFC, which is what you want to get away from! It didn't spoil the holiday though.
The harbour was pretty at night though and I particularly liked the colourful boats, they are called Luzzos or Luzzus. I purchased a little replica which I still have (non too tacky, honest!) and it reminds me of the heat and the sea which I loved.

  9. What a lovely surprise, it's my first time visiting your blog and it had to be a pic of Valletta. Been to south Wales 11 years ago and it was great.
