Garden Sparrow

Posted by PicasaIt would be a sad place without these little birds.
Up until the last few years they have been taken for granted and then their numbers started to rapidly decline. What was once a frequent visitor to parks and gardens became something of a rarity. Thankfully now it seems as if their numbers are on the up again.

  1. I'm so glad somebody noticed the little sparrows. I have some here along with red winged black birds and three little yellow guys I'm unable to identify.

  2. I love little sparrows. The are of much value...The Bible says, when one little sparrow falls, the Father sees it! That's just about the only kind of bird that visits my back yard. I love to watch them.

  5. Not sure what the little yellow birds are Kat. Over here if we can't readily identify a bird when we are out its called "a little brown bugger". Lots of people see these.
Wanda the sparrows are great fun to watch and it would be sad if they disappeared from our gardens and cities.
Alice its sunflower seeds in those feeders.

  6. Dave, sweet. We love to feed and take photos of the birds, too. I read an article in the paper the other day, asking people to either stop feeding them all together for the season, or at least clean/sanitize their feeders as many many birds were dead from Ecoli. Guess I better get out there and clean - as I don't want to not feed them.
