An Autumn walk

Posted by Picasa
The weather is really mild, 17C today, and sunny with it. Just the weather for a walk.
These were taken on the way up to the Sugar Loaf.

Do you have 6 minutes?

Do you have 6 mins to spare? If so have a look at this. I have never seen such daring and strength to weight ratio. She is amazing.

This is how I feel at the moment. For various reasons I haven't been taking many pictures, which is crazy because we have beautiful weather. Ideal for autumnal scenes.

The Waverley

This radio controlled model was being sailed in a local park, here's the real boat.
The Waverley works her way around the UK every year and its well worth a trip if she is near you.

Soft refreshing rain

Posted by Picasa
Fine rain or in Welsh "glaw man" on a rowan.
This is the type of drizzle that when I was a kid and wanting to go out and play you thought that you wouldn't get wet. But ended up soaked.
Apparently Ireland has "60 types of rain"
A gentle mist all heaven kissed
Like teardrops off an angel's wing
Don't you know you'll cleanse your soul
With a walk in the Irish rain.
Cho: Oh, Katherine, take my hand
I've got three pounds and change
And I'll sing you songs of love again
And when I get too drunk to sing
We'll walk in the Irish rain.

"On a bicycle made for four"

A quad bike?

What a beautiful support car to have with you?

A couple of pictures from the National Cycle Show in Earls Court London.

I went up on Friday to visit. London is always good and will never cease to fascinate me. Now that there is a Megabus running to it its very cheap to get there. Because these buses are cheap lots of students use them, so when I get on it lowers the average age a bit.

Fun in the park

These riders have amazing skills, I could have watched them for ages. While I was watching, there were no collisions amongst the BMX bikers, skate boarders and roller bladers. A natural right of way had been worked out.

Pen y Fan

Posted by Picasa
As we are having good weather it seemed as shame not to enjoy it, so on Saturday we had a walk to Pen y Fan .
Its a popular walk and as its not hard, many do it. You can see the path built by the National Park to combat erosion caused by the number of walkers.
Hard walk or not, on a clear day the views are terrific.

More old and new

Posted by Picasa
The top building was originally a wholesale potato warehouse which became derelict.
The lower one was a canal bridge, now a cyclepath and walkway. All now far better from what I remember, but were they better than the originals. If Cardiff had kept all its canals it would be a very interesting city today, the Venice of Wales maybe.
