I always say you should only ever read one Thomas Hardy book a year. Whilst he's a great writer, he is not exactly uplifting! The Leonard Cohen of writing?.
So glad to see this house. I do like Hardy's books if I don't read one all at one sitting. I like to pull it apart by paragraphs and look at his descriptions.
