Taffs Well

Posted by Picasa

After a long break I thought it was about time to start back. I would have liked to have said it was a break to enjoy the summer, but whilst we did had some good sunny days I feel there were more rainy ones. Anyway .....................

This is the spring that gave the village its name, and what it looks like now, a bit neglected and in need of a clean. But there is lots more information here.

  1. Gosh you have too much rain and we have had none.
What a grand idea to renew and reopen this piece of history. Is this like a hot spring then?

  2. It's historically interesting but boy do they need to do some work there before I set even a toe in the water!

  3. Yes Janice we have far too much rain, even as I type this its lashing down. Yes its a "warm " spring with the water temp. about 66F.

Ceil I think many many people would agree with you.

Its a pity though as it could be a worthwhile tourist attraction.

  4. Yes, I think it has potential as a tourist attraction. It reminds me of some of the hot springs I've seen.

  5. Welcome back, Dave! I've missed your photos of the places in Wales.

What a lovely well...or it will be when it's restored. I've heard stories about Taffs Well here in Canada and the miracles it's waters have performed.

I hope you're all unpacked and ready to explore more in your new surroundings!

  7. What an interesting shot. I didn't realize what it was at first! Looks like the water goes down pretty deep. Sorry you've had such a rainy summer. Glad to see you back!
