Amongst the trees, Duffryn Ffrwd Manor

Posted by Picasa
This is a grade 2 listed building, but now a private nursing home.  I've yet to find out who owned and lived in it.

  2. Um..your right about at trying to find any information on this old building except that it is a nursing home for sure...perhaps this old structure always has been some sort of a hospital before it became a nursing home? Or perhaps no one ever could find out who had built it.

It was an interesting search though.

  3. Duffryn Ffrwd manor was built for the owner of Nantgarw colliery, it was later converted into a hotel then into a nursing home, I have plenty of information on this building on my facebook page of Nantgarw if it is of interest to you, there are original design drawing and postcards and broschures of when it was a hotel, here is the link https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/groups/67009451253/ would also be great if you could add your photo of the manor to the page. regards B Bosanko

  4. I lived there from 1962-1968 as my father Mr David Evans was the manager of Nantgarw Colliery. It later was a nightclub then a nursing home as it is today.
