Ludlow Medieval Fayre

A cold weekend at Ludlow with temps below freezing.

Early morning on the campsite, cold and frosty!

The campsite is about 2 miles from Ludlow and an easy walk into the town, passing through the older parts, before you get to the castle.

The Fayre is held in the castle ruins and also in the town.  Everyone enters into the spirit of it with shopkeepers dressed in medieval costume. Its a big attraction and a good money spinner for the town as it brings in many people from all over.

  1. I don't mind the cold as long as it's sunny. Not so here and no fair to go to...

  2. It doesn't look that cold. You disguised that one well in your very inviting pictures.

  3. Wonderful pictures and event. How funny, that today, in the Daily Prayer Blog I'm a member of, I should post the Knight's Prayer. Adding it here.

    KNIGHT'S PRAYER
    Posted by: Wanda

My Lord, I am ready on the threshold of this new day to go forth armed with thy power, seeking adventure on the high road, to right wrong, to overcome evil, to suffer wounds and endure pain if need be, but in all things to serve thee bravely, faithfully, joyfully, that at the end of the day's labor kneeling for thy blessing, thou mayst find no blot upon my shield."

Knight's Prayer ~ Inscribed in Chester Cathedral.

Ephesians 6:11 "Put on the full armor of God so you can take your stand against the devils schemes."
    My personal prayer:
Dear Lord, I too must wear the armor to withstand the flaming arrows of the evil one. I want to as the Knights of old, seek to go forth in YOUR power, overcoming evil, suffering for Your sake when necessary. Serve you bravely, faithfully and joyfully, and at the end of the day, receive your blessing that I have served you well. I love you. Amen

  4. We have Renaissance Faires in the states where everybody dresses the part, but we don't have the old buildings to add authenticity.
