The Taf Trail a k a .........

I noticed this for the first time today, not a bad piece of graffiti.  The ride was just a short one and just an opportunity to get out  when there was a good break in the weather.  I'm soon on the trail after leaving home and then have a couple of choices as to which way to go..  Today as I had no destination in mind it was just a wander down alongside the Taf and then a bit of urban riding along city cycle routes.  I like doing this as you often come across areas that you haven't visited for a while.

I've also just discovered that I can include my Strava routes.  I got the idea of using map links from reading Micks blog

My route is.............. here

  1. Riding a bike in this weather is not much fun, worse if at snails pace.

  2. Hi Dave, You failed to mention it was your idea to put some sort of map on my blog in the first place - you're far too modest! It makes the posts a lot more interesting though doesn't it, especially being able to enlarge the map to a useful size, and it adds flesh to the description and photos to give a better overall feel for a ride.

As long as no potential bike thieves can work out where we live then including the maps is a great idea, and the extra information such as elevation changes and mileages are a bonus as well.

I like that graffiti by the way! If it's artfully done then I've no real problem with it, and there are clearly some very talented artists out there. It's all the pointless 'tagging' and random slogans and so on that really wind me up.

Wandering about with no real destination in mind can be great can't it! Like you say you end up in places you haven't seen in a while or are completely new! I think a lot of folk miss out on a lot of what is right on their door step, including myself until I got back on two wheels! I always drove around using the main roads only, now though I've got a much better understanding and appreciation for the local area thanks to just having a nose about on the bikes.

Anyway, I could waffle on all day, so best get on!

    Happy Cycling!

  4. Adullamite.....it has been really foul weather for the bike, and we get enough rain in Wales in a "normal" year.

Mick....Thanks, the bike is great for exploring as it combines covering a fair distance and be able to stop.

  10. Anita,

I think it looks good too and brightens up a boring green telecommunications box.
