Millennium Cycle Route

The section we cycled was from Swansea Bay to Pembrey Park and back.

Crossing the Lougher river

The first part here is the Burry estuary but then it opens out and you get fabulous empty beaches.

Pembrey park has a dry ski slope and toboggan run

Swansea council have planted wildflowers everywhere, they are on the central reservations of the roads enter the city and here alongside the trail.  I wish more local authorities did this.

Its well worth doing this ride especially on a sunny day, its flat and mostly on trails.

Leafy Surrey

We parked up at Horsley Campsite for a few days to visit the RHS [Royal Horticultural Society] at Wisley as they had the September flower show on.  Horsley is only about 5 miles from Wisley and the RHS had laid on free buses from Horsley station, well they charge enough at the entrance to make up for it.

Spending a day here hardly does it justice, and really you need to come back  regularly to take it all in and to see it throughout the seasons.

After the show, the next day we had a wander around Guildford.  The local Tourist Information had a leaflet on a heritage walk around the city and was well worth it.  Lots to see.

Lewis Caroll, lived here for a while so there are a few statues to Alice in Wonderland around the place.
