Leonardo comes to Cardiff

To mark the 500th anniversary of his death there are exhibitions  in various locations, of his life drawings, and 12 of them are on display in Cardiff Museum for a while.

Its fantastic to see them up close  and considering their age and the materials used to create them they are in good condition.

Well worth a visit if they are near you.

    1. Mick, it's amazing that they have lasted this long. It makes you wonder how or where they were kept to survive for 500 years.

  2. Good to see but a bit macabre!
He had plenty of other etchings that would be good.

    1. In a way yes Mr A, but then maybe thats looking at them with today's knowledge. 500 years ago the workings and structure of the body were a mystery to most and so these drawings would have been invaluable. So perhaps no more macabre than modern medical books.
