Jackdaw

The smallest of the crow family, inquisitive and intelligent. This one worked out how best to get the peanuts without actually landing on the feeder. These are social birds and establish their own hierarchy within the group. Woebetide any bird that breaks the rules as I've seen a Jackdaw "court" where a large group have for some reason decided on the fate of a member and sentenced him to a good pecking and maybe even death.

They're very common in and around Taffs Well.

  1. Wow, I wonder if other members of the crow family do that.
