A very wet and windy end to 2006, with many events throughout the country cancelled. Cardiffs events went ahead but were very muted compared to previous years, there didn't seem to be so many fireworks.
Dave, your night picture is beautiful! Happy New Year. I stayed up to watch 2006 end, which I usually don't, because I wanted to see if I could see the fireworks which were approximately six miles away. And in this flat land - I did. :)
We had no fireworks in my neighborhood last night and that rather surprised me. I think that means that the youth in the area are either too young to stay up or too old to stay home.
Your photo is quite interesting; it has a dreamy quality. Were it like that outside for me, I'd curl up on the couch with a novel in my hands. In fact, last night I stayed up to finish Rape of the Fair Country and was so eager to see "what-next" that I read into the first three chapters of Daughters of Rebecca. The Mortymer family has captured my imagination just as Wales had already done.
Hi Dave, Happy New Year to you and your family may it be a healthy and happy one. Love the new blog and a great night photo. Lots of fireworks here but I think London took the prize this year. Fantastic on the telly.
This picture looks very much like the weather we've been having here, Dave. I don't think I've ever seen a winter as windy and stormy as the one we're going through right now.
Our New Year's Eve was extremely windy, so there were few fireworks. As a matter of fact, there were hardly any celebrations at all, as many people had no power!

We had damp fireworks here too. But we had fun, nevertheless.

Aww...I hate it when weather cancels one time events. Happy New Year Dave!
ReplyDeleteIf I could muster some of your winds to blow over here and grab some of these blue skies to take back to you, I would.
