Cosmeston

The park is built on the site of an old quarry, the lakes are very deep.

During the weekends and bank holidays the helpers dress up in in period costume.

Kids just love these!
We came here first with our two about 25 years ago.

The pig sty

The village straddled what was then the main road, so was a popular stopping off place for a nights sleep and  no doubt a few beers.

This reconstructed medieval village is about 8 miles out of Cardiff and well worth a visit.  Entry is free but the guided tour [£2.50 ] is well worth it.

This village is within easy walking distance of Settle.  It probably grew up as a result of the wool trade but its now more well known for its school.

If you are ever in the Settle area you have to take the Settle to Carlisle train, the ride is stunning, especially the Ribblehead viaduct.

Just back from the Yorkshire Dales.  We stayed just outside Settle. Even if the weather wasn't great the scenery was dramatic.

Magnificant magnolias

These were at Dyffryn gardens.

Wonderful trees and I look forward to their blooms every year, but I always think they are better in someone else's garden and not mine.

Caerphilly Castle

The wooden man is supporting the leaning tower, which leans at a greater angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa.  It  leans because Cromwells army bombarded the walls during the Civil War.
