A Robins tail....... of Taffs Well in the snow

In an effort to avoid cabin fever I took a walk around the village to capture the snow scenes.

Hardly any vehicles, just people like me, fed up of being confined for two days.  No shops open, no buses or trains either.

I thought I'd start with this little fellow who was on our lawn looking for the meal worms that I had thrown out.

Only a few 4 wheel drive vehicles had ventured out.

No trains were running.

Even the pub was closed.

No bowling on this green for a while.

Probably the warmest place, the natural spring of the village, hence its name, with a temperature much warmer than today.

Off to help someone.

The guys drive across the whole of Europe through probably far worse weather than here only to find the depot shut.

The Garth mountain keeping a watchful eye on the village.

The end.

  6. Oh you lucky so and so Dave - you had more snow than us!

We did have some though, a good covering if only for one day.

Great photos once again, and good to see you feeding the birds. I've been giving mine extra portions for the last few days - how the heck they survived the other night I'll never know.

I bet those truckers were miffed! Battling their way through all that lot just to find the gates locked and everyone gone home! That's charming that is! Still, at least they're well equipped for spending nights out, unlike a lot of other folk who got stranded out and about.

Anyway, hope you've not suffered any burst pipes or flooding or any of the other consequences of all the fun we've been having!

    Best wishes Dave,

    Mick

    1. Mick, yes the birds must feel the cold, but they cuddled up to each other at night to beat the cold. I bet those international truckers are used to worse conditions than here. All cosy and warm here.

  7. Everywhere I have ever lived has not been able to deal with snow - everything would just shut down. It's enough to make a person crazy!

    1. We only get snow like this about once every 5 years and it only lasts a few days so we put up with it.
