A trip up to London and a visit to Greenwich.
The Cutty Sark is looking good after its restoration following the fire.
The Naval College is very imposing and the main walkways are all colonnaded, presumably to keep the old admirals and sea lords dry.
The chapel is beautiful and the picture doesn't really do it justice, because when you look at the decorated ceiling, its done in such a way that you get a 3D effect.
I usually pack a camera but this time I forgot so these are phone pictures.
It may be by phone, but these are still great photos. The chapel is beautiful and I can only imagine how good it must look in person.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy, I was pleased with them too.
DeleteWow the ship is huge!! I can def see the 3-D effect of that ceiling, amazing work.
ReplyDeleteIt's big but the surround is part of the museum walkway. Its amazing in that its been burnt downed twice so hopefully they have preventions in place so that it never happens again.
DeleteIt's many years since I went there but the naval museum sticks in my mind.
ReplyDeleteFabulous buildings.
They are so maybe another trip someday?
DeleteWe went to London for Christmas in the 1990s because our parents (both sides) were making us crazy. People can only be in one place at a time! Anyway, we loved the city so much and the museums and just all of it. Despite the fact that we were freezing to death, it was just wonderful. Now I read two bloggers from Wales, so perhaps that is next.
ReplyDeleteAlison, Wales is a small country and relative easy to get around but the downside is that we have a high rainfall. Some great bikes routes though, one good one is the north to south route which takes in stunning scenery. Wales and Ireland would make a good 2 week trip.
