All seasons have their beauty, and although many colours disappear in Winter the bonus is that you can see more, appreciate the trees and their formations. This mild February has seen the colours gradually emerge from their Winter sleep and very soon the starkness of the paths and trails will be repainted.
These photos were taken on a wander around the local nature reserve, Forest Farm.
A great comparison of the change of the season, the black n white to the budding colors of spring. I am ready for some steady days of sun and not so much rain!
ReplyDeleteHi Sondra, I think nearly everyone looks forward to Spring and hopefully the change to warmer times. Although in this part it can also mean wetter times. Have you any trips planned for this year?
ReplyDeleteDelightful picture of transition from winter to spring - thanks Dave.
ReplyDeleteThanks, although its mild now, as you'll know, we can still get some cold weather, which if it happens hopefully it wont last long. The side effects of this mild February is that I've been out on some good bike rides.
ReplyDeleteThe mild weather that we have been enjoying has allowed me too to get out on the bike a lot.....In fact this winter I have put more miles under the wheels than any of the last three winters....
ReplyDeleteNice picture set by the way.......
Thanks Trevor, we too have been doing more miles than we usually do at this time of year.
DeleteCracking shots Dave! I think Spring has to be my favourite season, there are still the signs of winter but also there is new growth and colour springing up all over the place and better times are ahead (hopefully!).
ReplyDeleteThanks Mick, it was looking at your shots of trees and hedges that gave me the idea. Yes Spring is my favourite too and May the best month, with its fresh green look.
DeleteHuge difference between B&W & colour photos, easy to see here.
ReplyDeleteLooks a decent place and will be great once all those flowers come out alongside the greenery.
Lucky man.
Its a great place Mr A, only 3 miles away by bike and free, but you can become a
ReplyDeleteFriend of Forest Farm for £5 a year, well worth it for the newsletters and guided walks. Its also in the top 5 places in the UK to photograph Kingfishers.
They are all wonderful photos, Dave. But there is something special that draws me to the black and white. Good job on both.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wanda, yes B&W pictures do have that dramatic appeal.
