At last a trip away in the van as campsites are open, but not all their facilities are fully open until the 17th May. So it was "strip washing" for as few days !!
As the weather was not good we went to Chester as there's plenty to occupy you in bad weather and it was bad, when it wasn't raining we had hail and sleet with frosts at night. We've been to Chester when the kids were small and walked the walls so we didnt do the whole circuit this time.
Not that busy as there are restrictions on the numbers travelling on the buses.
It was good to get away and see that certain aspects of "normality" are slowly returning. Its things you have taken for granted on previous trips that you miss, like stopping off for a coffee a beer and a snack, and yes we had all of these ,but sitting / standing outside in the cold is not the same.
But we are getting there.
I so much agree with your last paragraph. Dave!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you think is it worth going, but then the change of scenery does you good.
ReplyDeleteHi Dave, I know you enjoyed this trip....its so green and lush looking in the photos and I really like the old Tudor look, the Cathedral is amazing!! I hope that's the last restrictions you guys have. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sondra. From Monday 17th there's more easing of restrictions, so things are looking up.
ReplyDeleteGreat that you got a few days away.
ReplyDeleteAncient city right enough, worth a look.
Good pictures again, well worth £12!
Thanks Mr A, it is a pleasant place to visit with plenty to see and do.
ReplyDeleteNice pics, Dave. Here I am, travelling vicariously, via your pics.
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing about the Indian strain of covid in the UK, and I don't know where else it's gone. So I'm still nervous.
Stay safe. :)
Neena great to hear from you after a long time. I read your blog and have followed your progress. I think we will keep getting theses various strains of the virus but hopefully the medical knowledge in dealing with them will keep pace with the virus.
DeleteUnfortunately the spread of the variant in the UK is highest amongst those who dont want to be vaccinated.
All the best.
Oh wow, how wonderful to get out and have a trip.....Yeah. I loved the pictures, and felt like I was on the trip with you. We are getting out a little more, as my dearest is doing some better.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wanda, life will slowly return to what we had a few years ago. How are your doves?
