Barry is 12 miles along the coast from Cardiff and is probaly best known for its funfair and as a 1950's holiday camp resort. The fair is a now shadow of its former self and the holiday camp has been replaced by executive houses. But it has a castle, and a fair bit of history, however it's out of the way and I suspect not many bother to look for it. So just for you.......here it is.
Just for me? Oh, you do know how to please me, Dave. It's lovely to see the Barry castle and to read of its history.
ReplyDeleteCastles always hold such mystery and intrigue as well as a good deal of history. Thanks for sharing this one Dave.
ReplyDeleteI've been to Barry many years ago. My Uncle's mother in law lives there. Love the pics of the castle.
ReplyDeleteI always like looking at ancient structures like this. It is amazing that so much of it is still standing. We would never have seen this if it weren't for you! Thanks for giving us a visit to Barry Castle.
ReplyDeleteBarry Lindon's castle? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit a Castle. I imagine it to be filled with the energies of all the historical...and mystical events.
