A recent ride was to Clydach Vale Country Park, which is just outside Tonypandy.
Its a beautiful spot with great scenery but for some reason there are no signposts directing you to it. Why I dont know, do the Council want it kept solely for the locals.....who knows.?
I'm not sure how this cross got onto the mountain side but its been there for a few years now and judging by its whiteness it gets renewed regularly.
Yes it started to rain on the way home.
And on the way home I pass a local brewery, Treforest Brewery, on an industrial estate so in order to help the economy in these dire times I bought a couple of bottles to take home.
I know you enjoyed that ride, the countryside is very pretty...hope the rain didn't last long...and some good beverage for later, what more could one ask for? Have a good rest of the week!!
ReplyDeleteGetting out and about keeps my spirits up Sondra, the weather has been good and the countryside is colourful right now.
DeleteLooks a delightful cycle ramble, Dave. Will the new Welsh lockdown affect you for riding out at all?
ReplyDeleteAvus, during this lock travel, by any means is restricted to your county and the Welsh Government has been specific in mentioning cycling. Whereas in the previous lockdown cyclists were allowed a greater scope for riding. So my friends who live in Cardiff are severely restricted. Its great to have lovely places to cycle but I miss the company, banter, of riding with a group.
DeleteWhat a great Park to have to yourself (almost).
ReplyDeleteGreat pics as always.
Good to see you helping the local economy with 'Slack Alice.'
It does seem that the council are loathe to put up signs for their parks, I was passing another one yesterday when a motorist asked me how to get into it.
DeleteLooks like lovely countryside for a ride.
ReplyDeleteIt is Annie, nearby too, and very much appreciated at this time.
